France could make parenting forms gender-neutral
If France legalizes marriage equality, as it may soon do, it will also ban the words “mother” and “father” from official documents and marriage ceremonies.
The law would give equal adoption rights to gay and straight couples and replace all references to “mothers and fathers” to simply “parents.”
Justice Minister Christiane Taubira told France’s Catholic newspaper La Croix: “Who is to say that a heterosexual couple will bring a child up better than a homosexual couple, that they will guarantee the best conditions for the child’s development?”
Woot! That’s the spirit.

If gay marriage affects your straight marriage obviously your marriage is pretty shitty to begin with.
